You know, waking up to the pitter patter of rain drops on your bedroom window on a Saturday morning can be quite a delightful – even cozy if you look at it in that certain way. However, for many people Saturdays are BIG FUN days and the sound of rain just shuts down their parade – but it doesn’t have to because you can have BIG FUN even when it rains!
Sooo selfies, belfies, felfies
You likely have hundreds if not thousands of photographs saved on all your electronic devices … one day, one of those devices could go to sleep and never wake up again – taking all of your memories with it.
So, perhaps this rainy Saturday you could go through all of your photographs and choose ones that you actually want to have physical evidence of, store those jpgs on a handy drive and have them printed out. Now that is a well spent rainy Saturday.
Rainy Saturdays are little gifts that must be enjoyed with a coffee and a book and a curl up on a couch.
As a former bookworm come adult, one of the sucky things about growing up is that reading-book marathons just don’t happen anymore. You just don’t read 3 books in a week – because you’ve got responsibilities. Ugh.
But it’s important to read – it’s important to learn – if you don’t exercise that big muscle called brain, your smartability will begin to decline, and that just isn’t pretty.
So that is why all the good books of the world got together to sponsor rainy Saturday reading marathons. So there you go. Read.
Make Body Butter
Because when else are you going to have time to do it.
If you’re going to be at home for the whole day, then why not do something that is both relaxing and productive. Whipping up body butter is supremely easy and if you make a large batch you can also gift your luxury creations. In fact you could create a large batch and then use paint, labels and jars to make fun little packaging for your very own brand of body butter.
Easy Body Butter
1 cup shea butter
½ cup argan oil
2 tsp orange essential oil
- Place ingredients in blender and mix until smooth.
- Package in containers of choice and store in cool place.
Carpe Diem that
Yup, get out there and let it soak in baby. There is something wildly freeing about purposefully getting out there and running around like you just don’t care.
So go for a walk, a run, a cartwheel in the rain, raise those hands up high and embrace the rain. And the beauty of rain on a Saturday is you can go home whenever you want, peel off those wet clothes and take a nice long shower. That right there is one of the best feelings ever.
